Transferring to R.J. Reynolds in his junior year, looking for a higher athletic culture, senior Andreas Kazakos became a star on both the basketball court and the soccer field.

“I decided to transfer to RJR for a better basketball opportunity,” Kazakos said. “I definitely made the right decision. I’ve built relationships over the past two years that will last a lifetime.”

With his focus primarily on basketball, Kazakos averaged 11 points and four assists per game and was picked for Central Piedmont All-Conference Selections. He has accomplished many things and has enjoyed his time playing here.

“My favorite memory from the season is hanging out and talking with my teammates in the locker room before and after practice and games,” Kazakos said.

Aside from sports, Kazakos has been a member of the RJR Key club for two years, becoming the Sergeant-at-Arms senior year.

“My favorite thing about Key Club is that I get to give back to my community every week, while spending time with friends,” Kazakos said.

Next year, he will be attending UNC Chapel Hill, where he plans to continue achieving things beyond what he has accomplished during his time here at Reynolds.

“I plan to go to UNC next year, and plan to either play for their club basketball team, walk on to their real team, or try to be the manager,” Kazakos said.
