As academics begin to wind down and seniors are eager to finish the year, one senior in particular stands out to the R.J. Reynolds High School community: Keegan Brown. Throughout her time at RJR, Keegan has had a significant positive impact on her peers and teachers. Additionally, she has also achieved many special accomplishments. Brown has been a part of the swim and field hockey teams for her whole high school career.
“I would have to say my favorite memory was making states all four years for swimming. It was a huge honor,” Brown said.
Not only is she a pillar in demon sports, but she has also had an influence through her leadership roles.
“I am currently Co-President of the Ronald McDonald Club and Demon Service Team, a member of SGSC, manager of the Men’s Lacrosse, and Op-Ed editor of the newspaper,” Brown said. “All of these things have shaped me into being a better leader and better at working with others.”
Although she will be missed at RJR, Brown has a promising future ahead of her at North Carolina State University, where she hopes to major in Life Sciences and eventually pursue a career as an orthodontist or physical therapist.
“I am excited for all the new experiences I am going to be able to be a part of in college,” Brown said.
For some, it may seem like a bittersweet ending, but for Brown, it is just the beginning. She is ready to begin her next chapter.
“As sad as it is to face the last of things all throughout senior year, it has been such a special experience to do so along with my class,” Brown said.
Although her future is no doubt a bright one, she will definitely be missed amid the pines.
