If you are a student at R.J. Reynolds High School, you surely recognize Tyler Cronan; whether it’s through his role as Student Body President or through his contributions to the football team, he has left his impression on the school. As Cronan is an involved member of the RJR community, it’s impossible to overlook his impact on the school.
“I decided to run for student body president because I wanted to help represent the student body as a whole and make everyone feel heard,” Cronan said. “As student body president, I represent the student body’s voice and create a connection to people across the district and our administration from our students.”
Cronan’s leadership extends well beyond the classroom. On the field, Cronan brings the same drive, teamwork, and communication that define his role as a student leader. Cronan is a Swiss Army Knife for the RJR Demons football team, playing all sides of the ball and stepping up wherever the team needs him.
“Being a member of the football team allowed me to become very close with people whom I otherwise would not have interacted with,” Cronan said. “It allowed me to bond with people I may not be in classes with.”
Cronan has taken advantage of all that RJR has to offer by participating in a multitude of extracurriculars and advanced classes. Cronan ranks at the top of his graduating class; however, his most memorable part of high school was the unique culture.
“The best part of being a student at RJR is the diverse community that Reynolds has to offer,” Cronan said. “You get to meet so many people from different backgrounds, and it changes your perspective on a lot of things.”
As his time at RJR comes to an end, Cronan reminisces about the fantastic achievements and memories he has made, and he hopes to leave behind more than just titles and accolades.
“Don’t get so caught up in being perfect,” Cronan said. “Whether it is school or sports-wise, enjoy it while you have the chance.”
As Cronan looks towards the future, he plans to attend the University of Georgia and major in either business or sports management. With his natural leadership, academic discipline, and work ethic, Tyler Cronan will continue to make his mark far beyond the halls of RJR
