Hello, fellow music lover; today, you will be hearing my top 10 great songs to listen to while working, relaxing, or in general. Today’s list consists of rock and grunge music from the 1960s to the 2000s. Let’s jump into hearing this list!

1: “Like a Stone” by Audioslave

“Like a Stone” is a perfect song that mixes emotions about your feelings. The lyrics and the music make you think about what you’ve done before. The meaning behind the song is about the afterlife. In an interview with Steemit, the lead singer, Chris Cornell, says the song is about how we all are expected to do good things and work hard to have a good afterlife. It’s a great statement since we all work hard to be better people.  The guitar has a smooth, calm rhythm, and the soul power guitar sounds amazing during the solo performed by former band member Tom Morello, former member of Rage Against the Machine. Overall, if you like a song that has a deep meaning and has you thinking, why not give it a try?

2: “All My Life” by Foo Fighters

“All My Life” is a song full of energy. The instruments blend, creating an excellent sound and a good vibe. When the beat drops, it brings out the exciting part that brings up your soul. This song is more for a group, but if you are the type of person who likes to listen to music alone, then go for it. I recommend this song since it’s perfect for groups and parties.

3. “Feel Good Inc.” by Gorillaz

“Feel Good Inc.” is a calm and relaxing song. If you see the mural in the tunnel in Reynolds, you´ll see a painting of Noodle sitting on a floating windmill playing an acoustic guitar. The music video brings so much creativity that was bought into the song. It shows cases of the band playing their song in different settings. This song is more for chilling and having a great time with a buddy or significant other. I like this song because I enjoy how Bass player Murdoc brings out what it means to be a bassist. Overall, I love it. The band is excellent, and I recommend listening to their other songs.

4: “Sympathy for the Devil” by the Rolling Stones

Anyone who is a classical music fan should try this song. It’s a catchy song that takes you right back to the ’60s. The chorus makes the song catchy, and the use of so few instruments makes the song simple. It uses a bit of a rock element towards the solo, which is simple and well-played by Keth Richards, who does a great job making the solo sound fantastic. It has so much energy in it for a song that was made in the 60s. For those who want a taste of a classic, you´ll get more than you bargain for.

5: “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen

This song has a lot of meaning to me. It brings back many memories from the past and a few from right now. It holds a huge sentimental place in my heart since this is the first song I  heard as a child. To this day, I still listen to it when I´m feeling blue or sad about something. My favorite part of it is after the solo; it feels like a musical when they start playing again and have the group sing like they are in a choir. It sounds beautiful when their voices are together.  Plus, Freddie Mercury’s voice sounds amazing. Get ready because this song will take you on a wild 5 minutes and fifty-six-second journey. Overall,; I’ll give this song a 10/10, and it is a great song to listen to in your free time.

6: “You Know You’re right” by nirvana

This song is the last song to be written before the passing of Kurt Cobain. It was kept a secret for a while until it was released in October 2002. It is a song that holds a lot of sentimental value to fans of Nirvana. It is a fantastic song with a strong meaning of sympathy.  It makes you think about the mistakes you´ve made in the past but managed to fix them. For me, this song makes me feel great because some of the lyrics are things that a person can relate to.  I´ve made a few mistakes myself, but I managed to learn from them, and in some cases, those who were telling me I was wrong were right. I like it because of how much others can relate to just listening to the lyrics. Pay attention to the mellow vibe of the lead guitar. It’s my favorite part.

7: “Song 2” by blur

Yes, it is a real thing. That is quite literally the title of the song. Unfortunately, there is no sequel to song 2. Jokes aside, Song 2 has an element of ¨ let party¨ since it has so much energy and makes me want to get up and jam out for a bit. Though the song may only be 2 minutes long, it’s worth a listen with friends. I listen to it when I´m in a good mood. It pumps me up and gives me the courage to do a task I shouldn’t be procrastinating on. It gets the job done for me and it should do the same for you as well. For partygoers, just jam out to it and have a great time.

8: “Zombie¨ by The Cranberries

Zombie is a song that I would like to be able to play someday on the guitar. It brings elements of alternative rock, which uses grunge and other music styles. It’s so well played that the tone of it is calm and takes you on a trip. It has great distortion and with it brings out the vibe of what the song is all about. It is a masterpiece that brings out the meaning of alternative rock. What I like about it is that it touches your heart in a way that not many songs do. The style of it makes it an incredible song. For anyone who is a fan of alternative rock, give it a chance and see if this is the song that you like the most.

9: “Bulls On Parade” by Rage Against The Machine

Ah, yes, this legendary band has finally made it on the list. Singer Zack De La Rocha is a well-respected Rocker in the community for making the epic song  “Killing In The Name Of”. The band uses an element of heavy metal and rap since De La Rocha has done a few rap songs. “Bulls On Parade” brings out the rap and heavy metal aspects of Rage Against The Machine. It has so much energy that you’ll start evolving into a heavy rocker yourself. Guitarist Tom Morello brings out the rhythm of what Bulls On Parade is about. If you are a fan of both rap and heavy metal, then this is a song you will like.

10: “Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin

As we reach the end of this list, I leave you with a well-crafted song by Led Zeppelin. The song has a lot of references to stuff from Norse mythology. This makes it a great song because, to me, at least, it sounds like it has some type of story being told by a soldier or a god. It has so much energy to it that it was used in the movie Thor Ragnarok in the beginning intro. It’s amazing how they managed to mix rock and Norse mythology into a full-fletch song. I listen to it whenever I get that spark of energy. I highly recommend this for working out or for long trips to bring up your spirits.

We have reached the end of this list. I hope you guys like the songs I’ve recommended, I would also highly recommend exploring the catalogs. I hope all of you have a great time listening and keep on rocking and rolling.
